Wireless internet connected but can’t get online
When I check the status, it says I am connected to the internet with excellent signal strength. However, I cannot get online. The wireless icon in the right hand corner shows a dark blue screen with gray waves coming out of it (however when I can get online this icon usually shows as a flashing bright blue screen with green waves coming out of it.) I have connected to this router in the past with no problems, however I was recently traveling with my laptop and connecting to hotel internets, and I’m wondering if somehow some of the settings got changed. Here are the steps I have taken so far: · powered down both router alone and modem/router (restarting modem first)· unchecked the box for "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network’” to resolve Validating Identity problem· removed wireless network, and then re-added it (including WEP network key)· disable and re-enabled wireless connection· turned off wireless switch, then turned back on· repaired connection (include renewing IP address) Even after doing all of this, I still can’t get online. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!1 person needs an answerI do too

HeyCan you check if you have set up any proxy settings? You can do that by going to IE-> Tools-> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> Lan SettingsUncheck the boxes "Use automatic Configuration Script" and "Proxy server". Usually Wireless networks do not use proxy settings.Let me know if that helped.RegardsDineshRegards Dinesh
